Down in The Heart of It
Composer Sepand Shahab's deconstructed album/installation piece consists of a primary channel (the heart) that is entombed by ambient frequencies played out of several separate, portable speakers. Each portable speaker is held in a ceramic enclosure created by artist Yelena Zhelezov. These enclosures create a sonic and visual landscape within the exhibition space, with each speaker re-defining the context of the primary channel depending on the listener's proximity. This encourages the listener to explore and move through the environment as the piece evolves in its subtle and delicate form.
A limited edition of 8 speakers/ceramics is available through All Terrain Press.
This release includes a portable speaker housed within a concrete enclosure, as well as a download code for the primary channel of the composition.
